Privacy policy
Good Mornings · Effective July 22, 2026
Good Mornings is an alarm app made by Trevor Ash, based in Saskatchewan, Canada. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. The short version: there are no accounts, we collect very little, what we do collect is anonymous, and we never sell data to anyone.
What stays on your device
Almost everything. Your alarms, morning routines, settings, theme choices, and the name you enter during setup are stored only on your phone. They are never uploaded anywhere. If you delete the app, they are gone.
What we collect and why
Anonymous setup answers. During the app’s first-run setup, you answer a few questions, like your age range, gender, and questions about your sleep habits. We save these answers so we can understand who uses Good Mornings and make the app better. They are stored with a random ID that the app generates when it is installed. This ID is a string of random characters. It is not your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID, and we have no way to connect it to you. Your name and your signature from the commitment screen are never included.
Scan photos. When you end an alarm by scanning an object, the photo travels over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it to an AI image recognition service (Groq or OpenAI) to check whether the photo shows the right object. The photo is used only to produce that yes or no answer. We do not store your photos, and under the terms of these services, photos sent this way are not used to train their AI models. Photos exist only for the seconds it takes to check them.
Crash and error reports. If the app crashes or hits a bug, a report is sent to Sentry, a crash reporting service. It includes technical details like your phone model, iOS version, what the app was doing, and the same random install ID. It does not include your alarms, photos, or personal details.
Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through a service called Adapty. We can see that an anonymous user has an active, expired, or trial subscription so the app knows what to unlock. Your payment details, name, and Apple ID stay with Apple. We never see them.
What we never do
We do not sell or rent any data. We do not show ads or use advertising trackers. We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing activity. We do not require an account, so there is no password or profile to protect.
Where data lives and how long we keep it
The anonymous setup answers are stored with Supabase, our database provider, and kept so we can analyze them over time. Crash reports are kept by Sentry on a rolling basis. If you want the data tied to your install ID deleted, email us at support@havegoodmornings.com and include the Diagnostic ID shown in the app’s Settings screen, and we will delete it.
Children
Good Mornings is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top. Meaningful changes will be noted in the app’s release notes.
